I think my experience is probably very different from other spouse’s experiences maybe, although that is changing.

We’re seeing more and more people are choosing to live in private rentals or owning their own home and living life because if I talk about it from a female’s point of view, historically perhaps women did stay at home and they had jobs that they could easily move around to suit with their partner’s and that maybe it was my generation that we struggled maybe, we didn’t want that.

We wanted to have careers, we wanted to work, and for me that was very important.

I’m really proud of my husband, I’m really proud of his achievements.

However, I want to be proud of my achievements that aren’t just connected to me being a mum and a Naval wife.
