Simon And a global deployment means travelling around different parts of the world.

Yeah, so we did quite a lot of sea time on Trenchant. I joined it in Easter ’96. The first trip was America, then we came back in for Summer Leave into Plymouth. Then we sailed again and did ‘Perisher’ to train the submarine Captains.

Did that until the Christmas, came back into Plymouth for Christmas Leave, sailed in the January until September and the boat went from Plymouth to Gibraltar to La Maddalena thought the Suez. It went to Hong Kong.

We were the last submarine to go into Hong Kong. We went to the Philippines, Singapore, Australia, Diego Garcia and probably a couple more places I can’t remember.
